Z Bar Cattle Co. was founded by Stephen and his wife, whose backgrounds in retail and cattle operations brought them together in a shared vision of ranching. Established in 2008, the couple’s journey began after they met at a guest ranch in Colorado. Following extensive studies in ranch management and a commitment to service at Christ's Haven for Children, they returned to Texas to create their ideal ranching business. Relocating to Sunset, Texas, in 2013 allowed them to embrace their dream of producing high-quality grass-fed beef. The inspiration for this venture came unexpectedly when Stephen, while helping a local rancher, discovered the importance of pasture-raised cattle free from pesticides and fertilizers.
